In this two-hour workshop based on some of the inspirational collection of books from our cross-section library of House of Wisdom’s Network, Agaty will be sharing an introduction to Arabic Calligraphy in general and specifically on the “Ruqaa or Diwani or Kufi” font styles. Participants will learn more about different kinds of bamboo pens, Arabic inks, various types of hand-dyed papers, scripting techniques and how calligraphers make master calligraphy scripts. He will then guide participants through the anatomy of “Ruqaa or Diwani or Kufi” addressing individual letters and share some basic knowledge about letter connections and how to construct a balanced composition.
